What have you been doing for the last 10 years?:
I moved to Denver after finishing med school in Ann Arbor; I've remained here since then. After leaving academic medicine in the late 1980's, I practice part time while running a large single specialty allergy and asthma group. That leaves time for the more important things. I've always enjoyed the outdoors and Colorado offers so much: skiing, fishing, hiking, biking, boating. I've kept up with music, still drumming, but returned to the piano as well. I'm sure it will be Lisa Silvers disappointment to hear that I never took up the violin again. Pretty active with Jewish philantropy. I've been married for 22 years (wife #2) and have 3 children (1 currently living in Jerusalem not too far away from Rabbi Rick Dembs)and 2 grandchildren. Still keep up with many old buds from HS in Detroit and around the country.

What have you been doing for the last 10 years?:
My professional life has revolved around music and writing for the last 40 years. I've worked as a disc jockey, journalist, critic, publicist, biographer, record label executive, record label founder, museum consultant, gallery founder and curator, film documentarian, and adjunct university professor. I couldn't have predicted any of it when we graduated from high school.

I've been married for 28 years to a woman I met in Ann Arbor in 1973. Our daughter and son are now 23 and 19 years old.

Working on the reunion has been so much fun!  It's generated so many memories of Northbrook, Birney, SHS & so many people from the past. I'm looking forward to seeing people on October 10th!  Everyone on the committee has worked so hard.  It's been great to get to know them!
What is your Guest's name?: Mike Alexander
What have you been doing for the last 10 years?:
Following graduation from SHS and after a short-lived
"career" at Creem Magazine (working alongside writer and co-classmate, Jaan Uhelszki), I left the world of rock & roll and married my husband, Michael Alexander. Over the past 34 years, we raised two great kids, remaining in the same square mile I'd lived in since I was 10. When my kids were very young, I became a freelance court reporter, enabling me to enjoy the best of both worlds -- gainful employment and the ability to participate in all the typical parental duties/activities. I've had my own court reporting business for over 20 years. My son, Brian-32, recently finished a year-long White House Fellowship, returning to Harvard to complete the final 9 months of his residency in radiation oncology, following which he will stay on at Harvard as faculty practicing at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and Brigham & Women's Hospital. He was married last year. My daughter, Brooke-29, graduated from Boston University School of Law and remained in Boston where she works as an attorney in the health care field and enjoys city life. My pride is obvious. As for me, I love spending time with friends and family, taking bike rides to get ice cream (the calories don't count when you bike there), reading, being on the water, long walks, Detroit Lions (really), traveling to Boston to visit my kids (the Duck Tours, the Harbor & Quincy Market) and just relaxing in our wooded backyard in Beverly Hills, Michigan. Life doesn't get much better than this!

What have you been doing for the last 10 years?:
After high school I graduated from Michigan State and immediately married the wrong guy. Luckily we had the right kids (Todd and Ryan, now 33 and 30) and after 5 years as a single mom, I married Beau (Robert) in 1985. We raised Todd and Ryan and had our two other sons, Alex and Eric along the way, as well. There was actually one other female in our house for 8 1/2 years - our St. Bernard, Yogi. Our 2 oldest sons and sweet grandson Landon live in Tempe and Chandler AZ and our family can take substantial credit for keeping Southwest Airlines in business. Alex is doing a Masters at MSU (Go Spartans!) in digital media and Eric is a hockey playing junior business major at GVSU (Go Lakers!). Over the last 3 years, my husband has traded in his 19 year old technical training business for a law degree and a private practice in criminal defense. After college I spent 10 years as an actor, taught kindergarten/1st grade for 15 years and got a Masters in Learning Disabilities from Wayne State in 2000. I'm currently teaching elementary special ed. And though we've exchanged Russian novels of letters and emails of our lives over the years, Sandy Melillo (Mansfield) and I just saw each other for the first time since her wedding in '73 when I visited her in Florida in May this year...we had a blast and she looks the SAME!!! Lucky to say life is great and looking forward to seeing everyone at the reunion.

I married in 1972 and was a SAHM. During those years of PTA I became active in community politics and served 16 years on my local school board. I also finally decided to finish college and received a BS in Public Administration in 1998. I work now as a Vol. Coord. at a state psychiatric hospital.  3 years ago I lost 68# and took up running. I always wanted to be a jock.  I love my 3 grandkids to pieces and appreciate my only job is to enjoy them.

I moved from Southfield 2 years before graduation but I had lived there since 2nd grade and really missed the people at SHS. I'd sure like to come.

Ron, Phil, Carol, Bill who have already posted were among the wonderful folks that I knew back in the day. I am still best frinds with Rich Davio, class of 68, who lived across the street from me - we've been friends since we were 6 years old.

I sure hope folks like Bruce Stoker, Jeff Farland,Joe Pepelian, Dave Chambers, Bill Schlaff, Bill Nagler,
Dave Laurie, Tom Hubbard and other old friends can be found.

I've been retired for about 6 years.
I volunteer in all kinds of interesting
things from tall ship sailing and emergency management activities to many projects involving historical preservation.

I have such great memories of Magnolia, Brace, Lederle and the HS.
I can't wait to see you folks.

I've stayed in the Detroit area since graduation but have spent my time traveling and enjoying life. I met my husband in California and we have been married for 30 years. I taught for almost 20 years and after receiving my PhD in Instructional Technology I was a consultant. I have two grown step-children, 6 grandchildren, a 26 year old and a 23 year old. I now spend most of my time keeping up with kids and grandkids. I volunteer with Friendship Circle, as an usher at the Detroit Opera House, with Women's Philanthropy of Detroit Jewish Federation, Bookstock and the National Council of Jewish Women's Back2School program. I enjoy working out, biking, and walking with the SHS girls on Saturday. And with retirement I'm hoping to travel even more.

I was born and raised in Southfield.  I attended elementary, junior high and high school for the first twelve years of my education.  After getting degrees from Michigan State and Oakland University, I took a job as an educator in Northern California and lived there for 35 years.
In 2008, I moved back to Michigan and was fortunate to spend the last years of my mother’s life with her.  I enjoy living in Milford, just a few miles from my sister Joan Booth Sanborn (SHS Class of ’64) and spending time with my husband Al Raddi and our Golden Retriever, Gracie.
I’ve truly enjoyed working with twelve of our classmates to plan our 50th Reunion as well as our 45th and 40th reunions.  I’m really looking forward to seeing people that I’ve known since my days in elementary, junior high and high school.

The talent and skills of this committee continue to amaze me, from the website all the way down to the details you will see on the 10th.  It's been a pleasure working with you all.

Hi everyone,
John and I are both semi-retired. We split our time between Commerce and Leland, Michigan. Not quite sure about the winters in Leland, so we try to travel during the winter.
We have 2 girls, Nevada and Haley. Nevada is married and has 1 son, Gabriel. Haley is single and lives in Michigan. We have a great time being with our family. Our interests include boating, golf, gardening and being with our friends.
For those of you who couldn't make the reunion, but wrote a note, thank you, it was great hearing from you. Yes, I do remember you Larry Saul!
See the rest of you the 10th!

For the last 10 years I've continued to live, trying to be present in each glorious moment of my ordinary life.

Painting, teaching, cutting my little patch of grass, dancing in my kitchen, chasing chipmunks and sleeping soundly.

Some travel, some adventures, some new friends, enjoying the freedoms that come with time. (I do miss my old rodeo days) All is good and peaceful in my world and I'm grateful.

High school was the worst 3 years of my life. Square peg, round hole. I had about 6 friends, and  I was bullied continously. If I ever run into those grease balls again, the payback would be swift and unmerciful. 45 years later and I am still pissed.

No I won't be attending, have fun.
